Last updated 3 September 2026. This policy applies to Sonic Gallery 1.0.42 and later.
Sonic Gallery is a music player for the audio already on your Android device. It has no account, no server and no analytics.
The app keeps your playlists, favourites, settings (theme, equaliser, crossfade, recent searches), where you left off in the last track, and a list of the audio files found on your device. All of this stays in the app’s private storage on the device, which no other app can read. None of it is sent anywhere. It is left out of cloud backup. A direct phone-to-phone transfer carries it across.
It does not collect, share or sell personal data. It does not use analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services. It makes no network requests of its own.
Music and audio (READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, or storage access on Android 12 and
below) lets the app list the audio on your device through Android’s media
library. The app reads audio only, and only when you tap Scan Now or when the
app opens and you have already granted access.
Notifications are requested the first time music plays, so playback controls can appear on the lock screen and in the notification shade.
Internet is used only when you ask for a lyrics search, which opens in your browser, and in the browser preview to load sample artwork.
The foreground service (media playback) keeps music playing when the app is in the background.
The Share button hands a line of text (“Listening to … on Sonic Gallery”) to whichever app you choose. Sonic Gallery itself sends nothing.
The app is for a general audience. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Open Settings, then Storage & Data Safety, then tap Erase All User Data. This removes everything the app stores. Uninstalling the app does the same.
